Searching for a NYC Brewery – Easy as 1-2-3 Bleecker February 5, 2015 Beer, Drink Spots, Essential Guides, Featured, NYC Experiences If you have read some of my previous articles you probably know that I am kinda into beer. While I don’t always carry my growler with me (ok, maybe it’s in my bag) I am always on the lookout for new and different brews to try. I am excited to feature 3 cool NYC breweries that are changing the beer game. These NYC Breweries are each brewing their own way, and that is what makes them all so special! Bridge and Tunnel Brewery –NYC Brewery in Queens Who: Rich Castagna is the man behind the one-man NYC brewery. He is running the operation out of Maspeth, Queens. Where to get it: The Sampler in Bushwick is the best place to get new Bridge and Tunnel brews. Follow Bridge and Tunnel on Facebook to hear about which places are carrying and tapping kegs! Seasonal Brew: Right now, and until the batch is gone, Sampler will be carrying Phoenix– the new Habanero IPA! I’ll be heading over ASAP to score some for myself. Coming up there will be a launch for the beer at Sampler to celebrate the beer and the baby girl who it’s named for! Congrats! Bridge and Tunnel Brewery Dyckman Beer Company – NYC Brewery in NYC Who: Juan J. Camillo started Dyckman Beer Co. with the idea of having brews inspired by the people, flavors and culture of uptown. Juan is the only Latino owner of a NYC brewery in the city; he is paving the way and doing it with delicious talent. Where to get it: Flair Beverages and Locksmith in Washington Heights. Use their beer finder to get it close to you. Here is the link for the Beer Finder Seasonal Brew: The Belgian Triple Ale and Café Con Leche Milk Stout are their two winter seasonals that will be launching next week. Look out for them at a craft beer bar near you! Dykman Beer Co Gun Hill Brewery Who: Two buddies united by baseball, Dave Lopez and Kieran Farrell, started Gun Hill. A NYC brewery inspired by the battle of Gun Hill during the Revolutionary war that forced the British to turn on their heels, they aim for their beer to embody the same values. Where to get it: Head to the Gun Hill tasting room! Or head to one of these bars that consistently has some Gun Hill goods: Bronx Beer Hall, Bronx Ale House, Perfect Pint, The Milton, George Keeley’s, Alfie’s, Jasper’s TapHouse, Dutch Kills Central, The West. Seasonal Brew: The Frosted Hop Strong Ale is a ruby-red ale with berry aroma and with 8% ABV, it will keep you warm all winter. Another one of my favorites is the 13 Star XIPA, which I’ve written about before. Gun Hill Brewery
