Eat Up New York Takes Z100’s Jingle Ball Meet and Greet Trent Warner December 13, 2014 Uncategorized Yesterday I got the chance to head out to Z100’s Jingle Ball Meet and Greet of 2014 (and for work too, how great is that?!). Picture yourself at the Hammerstein Ballroom, music blaring, girls screaming, celebrity appearances and tons of cool giveaways. That’s what it was like for me and I loved every second of it! The ballroom was packed with pop music enthusiasts alike. There were kids who skipped school, kids who came after school and the occasional dad rocking out to the music. It was a melting pot of people, specially made by Z100. Meeting Rita Ora I started off the day with a meet and greet with the one and only Rita Ora at the Z100 & Coca Cola’s All Access Lounge. This up and coming star is best known for her hit single with Iggy Azalea, “Black Widow.” She was really friendly an excited to meet everyone. It all happened so fast; we said hello, hugged, took a picture and the crew quickly sent me on my way. But it was definitely worth the wait. Cant wait to see it on Z100s website. The Free Concert During my time there, I saw Sean Mendes, Rixton and Meghan Trainor perform. I have never heard Sean Mendes’s songs, but I did recognize his acoustic version of Eminem’s, “Lose Yourself.” Rixton was really impressive. The band, all the way from the UK, rocked the stage with great dance moves from the lead singer, Jake Roche, backed an awesome sounding band. They even sang, “Rockin’ Robin” and nailed it. During a break, Z100’s Bethany Watson and Skeery Jones came out with Jessie J and Santa Claus. They wanted to remind everyone about all the chances to win tickets (which, I didn’t win). Then, (my favorite part) Meghan Trainor dropped the bass. She came out singing Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’s, “Uptown Funk” and ended it with “Lips are Movin’” and “All About that Bass.” She drew in the biggest crowd and had everyone dancing. The Free Stuff During the Free Concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom, there was an unbelievable amount of booths handing out free gifts up on the balcony. Coca Cola gave out free drinks, as was Vitamin Water. I got my hair done by Conair stylists using the new Curl Secret. It really works by the way. Conair Curl Secret I skipped the make over, because the line was too long, but got my nails done by Broadway Nails. Goody and Axe were handing out free stuff. DKNY handed out perfume samples. Plus, I got a ton of other gifts by P.C. Richard & Son, Caldwell College, Ramapo College, Lincoln Technical Institute, ChapStick and more! Not to mention, Goldfish Puffs did a great job sponsoring (and handing out bags of Goldfish)! I walked out of Z100’s Jingle Ball Meet and Greet like I went shopping without the heartache of lost money and a concert to top it all off. The music never stopped. There were awesome remixes like, Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” and Outkast’s “Hey Ya.” Z100’s Jingle Ball Meet and Greet is something you just can’t miss next year. I didn’t get to go to the concert, but the meet and greet was just as great!
