If you enjoy copious amounts of liquor and food then you may want to get your tickets for the 16th annual New York Taste event. Nowhere on Earth offers the same conglomeration and amalgamation of tastes, cuisines and culinary styles as New York City. Sure, France may seem like the center of haute-cuisine and the fiery passion of India may be difficult to export but New York has managed to get a handle on both of them (and that’s not all we’ve got our hands on). Our street corners are littered with pretty much any food you can dream up; from Wasabi pea ice cream to a $666 burger to pigs’ feet and haggis you can probably find it in one of the five boroughs. And, all of that diversity will be present at the Waterfront Building (located at 269 Eleventh Avenue) on Monday, November 10th. Here’s what you need to know.

New York Taste – A Brief History

New York Taste has been a staple for New Yorkers since 1998. It began when a few local chefs decided to come together and show off their respective cuisines to the community. A few years down the road and it has become one of the greatest feasts that the city (let alone the country) has to offer. This year’s festival will feature more than 40 restaurants, chefs and mixologists. But, what does that mean for you?

Who Will Be There?

Since this is New York, you have to know that the event will be quite an affair. With celebrity chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Masaharu Morimoto scheduled to be in attendance event-goers will be able to eat food that they may have only seen on TV (it’s time for you to judge who will be this competitions next Iron Chef). Unfortunately, New York taste is fairly costly to attend with standard fare tickets starting at around $110 (with VIP tickets starting at $212.31). But, with unlimited food and drink that far outweighs your local chain buffet that $100 ticket does not look all that bad.

We are truly excited to see what this year’s chefs can conjure up (and hopefully we’ll see you there). If not, we will have an updated blog after New York Taste to keep you in the know about chefs and restaurants to try in the future. Talk to you soon!
