There are just about 1,000 things to do on weekend nights in New York City, but yet somehow all of those things can end up feeling the same.  GoodKarma is looking to mix up your Friday night in a better way than ever before. Give back while getting down on the dance floor.

What is GoodKarma?

The idea for the organization came from a group of young people who cared about changing the gender gap in computer programming. Since they weren’t excited by the traditional idea of fund raising events they sought to create a new way of raising money that young people can get behind.

GoodKarma is putting together some killer events that also allow attendees to do some good. Their first event In December raised over $3,500 and kept everyone dancing until 4am.  GoodKarma’s next event, Hello World! Beta: PARTY, is on Friday, Janurary 23rd at Lot 45 in Bushwick.

GoodKarma

GoodKarma works with General Assembly who agreed to match 25% of all the money raised to help fund scholarships for women through the GA Opportunity Fund.  The Opportunity Fund is a new philanthropic program that provides underrepresented groups across the globe with transformative education and opportunities in the technology sector.
