Midweek happy hours, and dinners out with friends, definitely add a bit of fun to a rather dull workweek, but even those need an upgrade sometimes. If you’re looking to spice up your week a bit differently, I have just the event for you.

Comedy Night at The Village Underground

Next Tuesday, March 24th, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation (GVSHP) Brokers Partnership is putting on a Comedy Night at The Village Underground!   This event is part of a series of events highlighting the preservation of the South Village and the great “mom and pop” shops that remain along MacDougal Street.   And if you are one of the avid readers of Eat Up New York you know that we are huge fans of the “mom and pop” shops along with their preservation.

The GVSHP Brokers Partnership is made up of residential real estate brokers who want to raise awareness of the GVSHP and help bolster membership.  The Brokers Partnership organizes educational programs and raises funds in support of the Society.   The Comedy Night at the The Village Underground is one such fundraising event for the GVSHP.

Noam Dworman, who also owns legendary Comedy Cellar generously donated The Village Underground for the event. Well known comedians will be performing in support of the GVSHP Brokers Partnership Comedy Fest.

The following comedians who will be featured have appeared on The Dave Chapelle Show, Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, and television sitcoms on FOX, ABC, and Comedy Central:

Dustin Ybarra
Donnell Rawlings
Chris Distefano
Erin Jackson
Christian Finnegan
Aparna Nancherla
Godfrey
Ted Alexandro

It’s sure to be a great night with a ton of laughs! It’s a true celebration of Greenwich Village and how its character has enriched New York City. Even better, all proceeds will benefit GVSHP and the Rebecca Daniels Scholarship Fund for Real Estate Continuing Education.
